Dans La Vie AW12 – Fashion Scout

Dans La Vie’s bright and elegant fall collection gave the impression that 1960s American pop art had an exciting encounter with the simplistic silhouette of the 1940s: vibrant prints, as eccentric as electric, were found on oh so feminine cuts, figure-hugging dresses and clinched in waists. The result? Fine, neo pop fashion.

Vivid prints popped in swirls, dots and blocks of tangerine, purple, powder blue and yellow on skin-tight leggings with matching jackets, loosely-cut hoodies and calf-long, padded trench coats, while reptile and leopard prints clashed on collars. The feminine, delicate cuts combined with the eye-popping collage prints brought a streamlined effect to the collection, while the odd dress or skirt stuffed with black tulle provided a swirl of extravagance.

An added retro touch came from the accessories – neon-coloured reflector sunglasses and UFO-resembling headwear – while the pink and orange-dyed strands in the models’ voluminous hairdos and coral-tinted lips contributed retro glamour.
